About the Artist

Lina Vale (b. 1992, Britain) is a contemporary painter whose work moves between abstraction and the loosely observed interior. Trained in fine art, she developed an early interest in how light sits on a surface and how a room can be reduced to a few planes of color without losing its sense of place. Her paintings treat color as structure. Coral, ochre, teal, and violet are held in quiet relation rather than used for spectacle. Studio light, leaning canvases, residue on a table, and the edge of a window recur as subjects, pared back until only the essential remains. The result is work that feels both material and remembered — a record of looking as much as of making. Vale has exhibited in group and solo presentations across Europe. She lives and works between the studio and the gallery, continuing a practice rooted in close observation and restrained color.
